More than 45.54 lakh electors in Telangana have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral roll following hearings conducted under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 45,54,236 out of 58,97,432 hearings have resulted in eligible voters being approved, with less than ten days remaining for citizens to file claims and objections before the October 7 deadline.
The CEO’s office stated that 92,88,180 notices had been generated against a target of 92,88,181 electors. Of these, 87,85,739 notices (94.6%) have already been delivered, while 5,02,441 notices (5.4%) are still pending. The hearings were conducted for cases flagged due to logical discrepancies and non-mapping of records, ensuring that only eligible voters are included in the revised electoral rolls.
Election officials have urged all voters who receive notices to submit the required documents and appear before the concerned Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) within the stipulated time. As per the official schedule, claims and objections can be filed until October 7, all pending cases will be disposed of by November 5, and the final electoral roll will be published on November 11.
