A major road accident on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway near Shamshabad in Telangana’s Rangareddy district claimed one life and left several others injured during the early hours of Monday, September 14. According to initial reports, the incident began when a container truck crashed into an electric pole located on the road divider. The collision reportedly triggered a chain reaction, causing a private bus travelling on the highway to lose control. The speeding bus then rammed into several parked vehicles before crashing into a roadside hotel and an adjoining betel shop, causing extensive damage to the structures and vehicles in the area.

Witnesses said the accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. and created panic among people present near the highway. A man who was reportedly having tea outside the roadside hotel was struck by the out-of-control bus and died on the spot. The bus driver suffered serious injuries in the crash, while several passengers and others at the scene also sustained grievous injuries. Emergency services quickly reached the location, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment. The identities of the deceased and the injured have not yet been officially released.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the accident. Officials said they are examining whether factors such as overspeeding, driver negligence, or mechanical failure played any role in the crash. A police officer confirmed that further details would be shared after the completion of the preliminary inquiry. Authorities are also collecting statements from eyewitnesses and reviewing available evidence to establish responsibility for the tragic incident.
