The Telangana government on Saturday issued a third flood warning after the Godavari River continued to swell at Bhadrachalam due to heavy rainfall in the upstream regions. Officials reported that the river level had crossed the danger mark, reaching around 56 feet, while the discharge increased to nearly 15.96 lakh cusecs. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as water levels continue to rise, with emergency teams remaining on alert in vulnerable areas.

The increasing floodwaters have disrupted normal life in several low-lying villages situated along the banks of the Godavari. Roads connecting Bhadrachalam with nearby regions, including Dhummugudem and parts of Odisha, have been affected due to overflowing water. The bathing ghats at Parnasala have also gone under water, making movement difficult for residents and pilgrims. Local officials are continuously assessing the flood situation and coordinating relief measures wherever required.

District authorities have appealed to residents living in flood-prone areas to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel unless it is an emergency. People have been advised to follow official instructions, stay away from riverbanks, and remain alert for further updates as heavy inflows into the Godavari are expected to continue. Disaster response teams and government departments have been placed on standby to respond quickly if the situation worsens.
