Two Dead, Three Injured After Speeding SUV Triggers Multi-Vehicle Crash on Hyderabad ORR

Two people lost their lives while three others sustained injuries in a major road accident on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Saturday evening, July 18. The crash occurred around 5 PM within the limits of the Ameenpur police station when a speeding Toyota Fortuner reportedly lost control, rammed into the road median, crossed onto the opposite carriageway, and overturned. The out-of-control SUV then collided with two other vehicles, resulting in a serious multi-vehicle accident. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and shifted the injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent to a mortuary for post-mortem examination.

Videos circulating on social media showed the aftermath of the crash, with the Fortuner lying overturned and another vehicle severely damaged due to the impact. The footage highlighted the intensity of the collision, as the vehicles suffered extensive damage. Police officials stated that overspeeding was the primary cause of the accident, adding that the driver lost control before crashing into the median and triggering the chain collision involving the other vehicles.

According to the Ameenpur police, a case has been registered under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death by rash and negligent driving. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the sequence of events and the role of the driver. Authorities have once again urged motorists to follow speed limits and exercise caution while driving on high-speed roads such as the Outer Ring Road to help prevent similar tragedies.
