3.5-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Maharashtra’s Hingoli District

A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Maharashtra’s Hingoli district on Saturday morning, causing tremors across parts of the region. According to officials, the earthquake occurred at around 11:26 am with its epicentre located at a depth of five kilometres. No casualties or damage to property were reported immediately, and authorities said they are closely monitoring the situation.

The latest tremor comes just days after a series of earthquakes affected Hingoli and the neighbouring districts of Parbhani and Nanded. On Thursday, four consecutive tremors ranging from 3.6 to 4.6 in magnitude were recorded between 1:37 am and 3:23 am, with the epicentre near Shirli village in Vasmat taluka of Hingoli district. Those earthquakes caused damage to several houses and triggered panic among residents.

Following Saturday’s tremor, local officials urged residents to remain calm while continuing to monitor seismic activity in the region. Disaster management teams are keeping a close watch on the affected areas, although no emergency response has been required so far. The recent series of low-intensity earthquakes has raised concerns among locals, even as authorities continue to assess the situation and advise people to follow official safety guidelines.
