Telangana Gurukul Students Expose Shocking Negligence: Uncooked Food, Dirty Hostels, and Ignored Complaints

Students of a Gurukul girls’ school in Kalwakurthy, Nagarkurnool district, have raised alarming complaints about the poor living conditions and food quality inside their hostel. They alleged that they were served uncooked rice mixed with jaggery and had to prepare their own meals due to the absence of cooking staff. “We are cooking for ourselves since no staff is available. Even last night, we made our own dinner,” one student said, describing the daily struggle and lack of basic support from the school administration.

The students also revealed distressing details about the unhygienic environment in their hostel. They claimed that washrooms are in terrible condition and the dining hall emits a foul smell, forcing them to eat their meals outside in open grounds. “They give us Khichdi, Zeera Rice, and Sambar every day, and that too is half-cooked. Earlier we used to get Upma, but they stopped serving it,” said another student, expressing frustration over the poor food quality and lack of variety.

In a shocking statement, one of the students alleged that even when a dog dies inside the classroom, it is not removed for days. According to her, the dormitories remain unclean and authorities refuse to address their grievances. Despite repeated assurances that the municipal staff would clear the carcass, no action has been taken. The incident highlights the dire neglect in Gurukul management, raising serious questions about the safety, hygiene, and basic dignity of students living under state-run educational care in Telangana.
