₹7 Crore Jewellery Looted From CaratLane Store in Hyderabad’s Medipally

Hyderabad: Burglars allegedly looted diamond and gold jewellery worth nearly ₹7 crore from a CaratLane showroom in Medipally during the early hours of Monday. According to police, the accused targeted the jewellery outlet late at night, broke open the shop’s shutter and entered the premises before escaping with a large quantity of valuable ornaments. The massive theft came to light only in the morning, triggering an immediate police response and a detailed investigation into the incident.

Police teams rushed to the showroom after receiving information about the burglary and began collecting evidence from the scene. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the jewellery store and nearby locations to identify the suspects and trace the route used during the crime. Meanwhile, the showroom owner, who hails from Warangal, said he was informed by the building owner that the shop’s shutter had been found open. He immediately reached the store and lodged a complaint with the Medipally police.

A criminal case has been registered, and special investigation teams have been formed to track down those responsible for the high-value theft. Police are exploring multiple angles, including the possibility that the burglars had prior knowledge of the store’s security arrangements and valuables. Officials are continuing their investigation and reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence in an effort to identify the accused and recover the stolen jewellery.
