Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old woman jumped from a moving MMTS train in a desperate attempt to escape a molester who entered the ladies’ compartment and tried to assault her. The incident occurred on Saturday when the woman, a hostel resident in Medchal, boarded the Tellapur to Medchal MMTS service from Secunderabad. Initially, there were two other female passengers in the compartment, but they got off at Alwal, leaving the victim alone. Seizing the opportunity, a 25-year-old man entered the coach and attempted to force himself on her. In a panic, the woman leaped out of the train, sustaining injuries as she hit the ground near the railway tracks.

Passersby who saw her lying near the tracks immediately alerted the police. Authorities rushed to the spot and shifted her to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, her injuries were not life-threatening, and doctors confirmed that she was in a stable condition. The railway police have registered a case and launched an investigation to track down the accused, who fled the scene after the incident. Efforts are underway to identify the suspect using CCTV footage from railway stations along the train’s route. Police officials have assured that strict action will be taken against the perpetrator and that security measures in ladies’ coaches will be intensified to prevent such incidents in the future.
