Wife and Lover Jailed for 14 Days After Gruesome Murder of Merchant Navy Officer

In a shocking case from Meerut, a woman and her lover have been sent to 14-day judicial custody for the brutal murder of her husband, a Merchant Navy officer. The accused, Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, allegedly drugged, stabbed, and dismembered Saurabh Rajput before hiding his remains in a cement-filled drum. As the duo was escorted out of the chief judicial magistrate’s court on Wednesday, March 20, a group of enraged lawyers attempted to attack them, forcing police to intervene and form a protective ring around them. This disturbing crime has left the community in shock, with people demanding strict punishment for the accused.

According to the police investigation, Saurabh Rajput, who worked in a bakery in London, had returned home on February 24 to celebrate his wife’s birthday. However, he was murdered on March 4, after Muskan allegedly spiked his food to render him unconscious. Sahil then joined her in stabbing him to death before they dismembered his body in the bathroom. The next day, they purchased a blue plastic drum, cement, and sand, stuffing the body parts inside before sealing it. Shockingly, after committing the crime, the couple took a trip to Shimla and only returned on March 17. The police were led to the crime after Rajput’s brother filed a missing person report, suspecting foul play. When questioned, Muskan and Sahil confessed to the horrific act, leading to the recovery of the victim’s remains and the murder weapons from their residence.

The investigation also revealed that Muskan and Sahil had been in a relationship since 2019, reconnecting through a WhatsApp group despite her marriage to Saurabh in 2016. The couple had a six-year-old daughter, whom Muskan sent to her grandmother’s house before executing the murder plot. The level of planning involved in the crime, including the purchase of sedatives and weapons, has shocked even law enforcement officials. Meanwhile, public outrage continues to grow, with many condemning the act and calling for the harshest possible punishment for the accused.
