Unemployed Crowd Protests at Hyderabad Metro, Demands Telangana Job Calendar

A large group of unemployed individuals staged a protest at Dilshuknagar metro station in Hyderabad, demanding the Telangana government release the annual job calendar for 2025-26. The protest saw participants, including both men and women, sitting on the road while holding banners and raising slogans. Their action led to significant traffic congestion around the metro station, causing inconvenience to commuters, while police personnel were deployed to manage the flow of vehicles.

The protest highlights growing frustration among job seekers, who expected the state government to release the job calendar earlier in the year. Reports indicate that while the previous BRS government, which ruled Telangana from 2014 to 2023, never published an annual job calendar, last year’s calendar was released on August 2. This year, unemployed individuals and activists are pressing for timely disclosure to allow them to plan and apply for available positions without further delays.

State authorities have yet to respond publicly to the protest, even as participants remain steadfast in their demand for clarity on employment opportunities. The demonstration underscores ongoing unemployment challenges in Telangana and reflects mounting pressure on the government to ensure transparency and timely communication regarding job openings. Commuters and residents around Dilshuknagar continue to monitor the situation, while protesters vow to continue their campaign until the job calendar is officially released.
