Tragedy in Rajendranagar: 5-Year-Old Migrant Boy Dies After Falling Into Well

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the Mailardevpally area of Rajendranagar on Monday when a five-year-old boy named Prince accidentally fell into an open agricultural well near his home. Prince was the child of a migrant couple from Bihar who had relocated to Laxmiguda in Ranga Reddy district in search of work. The family, living in a rented accommodation, earned a modest living through daily wage labour. According to reports, Prince was playing near the well when he slipped and fell, sparking panic among local residents and his family.

Alerted by the distressed family and locals, the police and Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams quickly reached the site and began rescue efforts. Emergency responders toiled for hours, working through the night to drain water from the deep well. Despite their relentless efforts, the mission ended in tragedy. Prince’s lifeless body was recovered by DRF personnel early Tuesday morning, sending waves of sorrow through the entire neighbourhood.

This heartbreaking incident has brought attention to the unsafe conditions many migrant families live in, often lacking basic safety infrastructure. Residents have called for immediate action from local authorities to cover and secure such open wells in densely populated areas. The child’s death is a grim reminder of the risks faced by vulnerable communities in urban outskirts and the urgent need for preventive safety measures in residential and agricultural zones
