Tragedy in Ajmer: Hotel Fire Claims 4 Lives, Brave Mother Throws Child to Safety

A devastating fire broke out early Thursday morning at Hotel Naaz in Ajmer, killing four people and injuring several others. The fire, reportedly caused by a short circuit, quickly engulfed the building, prompting guests to jump from windows in a desperate bid to escape. Among the victims were two men, one woman, and a four-year-old child, who succumbed to suffocation and burn injuries. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as thick black smoke poured out of the hotel, which was located in a narrow alley, making it difficult for rescue teams to reach the site promptly.

In a harrowing act of courage, one woman trapped inside the building threw her child from the third floor in an effort to save his life. The child survived with minor burns, while the mother was restrained by fellow guests from jumping after him. Heart-wrenching visuals captured the panic as people clung to ropes and leapt across rooftops to escape the blaze. One man attempted to slide down a rope but tragically fell to the ground. A total of eight people were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with initial findings pointing to an electrical panel malfunction as the cause of the fire. Visitors staying at the hotel were pilgrims from Delhi. Rescue efforts were hampered by the hotel’s location in a congested area, leading to exhaustion and fainting among emergency personnel. The fire has since been extinguished, and officials confirmed that no one remains trapped inside. The tragedy has sparked concern over safety measures and building regulations in densely packed areas like the one where Hotel Naaz is situated.
