Thunderstorms, Lightning & Cooler Days Ahead — IMD Issues Yellow Alert Across Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecasted widespread monsoon rains accompanied by thunderstorms across several districts of Telangana for the next three days. The department has also issued a yellow alert for most parts of the state, cautioning residents about possible lightning and gusty winds. According to the latest bulletin, Hyderabad and its adjoining districts are likely to experience evening and overnight thunderstorms as the southwest monsoon continues to remain active.

Weather enthusiast T. Balaji, known for his accurate predictions, confirmed that rainfall activity is expected to intensify from Saturday evening. The IMD further mentioned that strong squalls and lightning may occur in certain regions, urging people to take necessary precautions during outdoor activities. Friday’s temperature records already reflected a cooling trend — Nagarkurnool reported a low of 28.6°C, while Hyderabad’s Bandlaguda area saw the mercury dip to 30.7°C.

With the onset of fresh showers, residents are advised to plan their travel and daily routines accordingly as intermittent rainfall could lead to waterlogging in several low-lying areas. The expected downpour is also likely to provide much-needed relief from the recent humidity, marking a pleasant shift in weather across Telangana. Meanwhile, authorities have urged citizens to stay alert and follow official weather updates from IMD Hyderabad over the next few days.
