Thunderstorms Hit Hyderabad and Surrounding Areas, Weather Forecast for Next 24 Hours

Thunderstorms, along with lightning and gusty winds, hit core Hyderabad and its surrounding districts on Sunday evening. The weather event brought moderate rainfall lasting between 10 to 15 minutes in several areas such as Tellapur, Serilingampally, Miyapur, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Narsingi, and BHEL. These weather conditions were recorded by the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS). The rainfall, accompanied by thunder, impacted daily activities but also provided some relief from the soaring temperatures.

By the evening, Rangareddy district, particularly Serilingampally, RC Puram Patancheru, and Amberpet mandals, observed the highest levels of rainfall. The areas received rainfall ranging from 2 mm to 4.3 mm, which led to a significant drop in temperatures across these regions. The thunderstorms are expected to affect other parts of Hyderabad later in the evening, bringing more rainfall and wind conditions.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad, these thunderstorms and gusty winds are forecasted to continue in Hyderabad and surrounding regions for the next 24 hours. As per the IMD’s latest advisory, residents are urged to be cautious, as the weather conditions may cause temporary disruptions and increased risk of falling trees or flying debris.
