Mosque in Telangana Attacked, Holy Qurans Desecrated in Shocking Act of Vandalism

Worshippers in Telangana were left stunned on Monday after a mosque in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district was found brutally vandalised, with multiple copies of the Holy Quran desecrated and scattered across the prayer hall. The attack took place at the local Jama Masjid in Jalalpur village, where unknown individuals allegedly broke into the place of worship, damaging walls, smashing window panes, and destroying washroom doors before turning the sacred space into a scene of chaos. Prayer mats were thrown around, religious books lay in disarray, and the mosque bore clear signs of deliberate destruction rather than accidental damage.

Residents and worshippers said the incident appeared to be a targeted act meant to provoke and hurt religious sentiments, especially given the way the Qurans were reportedly torn and thrown across the floor. The visuals that surfaced on social media showed the mosque in complete disorder, reinforcing claims of intentional desecration. Locals expressed anger and fear, questioning how such an attack could happen without immediate intervention, and demanded stronger protection for religious places. For many, the incident was not just vandalism but a direct assault on communal harmony.

Reacting sharply, Majlis Bachao Tehreek spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan condemned the act and called on police to immediately register a criminal case and launch a thorough investigation. He stressed that those responsible must be identified and punished without delay to prevent similar attacks in the future. The incident once again exposes how fragile law and order becomes when hate-driven acts go unchecked — and how quickly religious spaces turn into soft targets when accountability is weak.
