Mob Attacks Muslim Family in Telangana’s Nizamabad, Five Severely Injured

In a shocking incident in Sirnapally village of Indalvai Mandal, Nizamabad district, Telangana, five members of a Muslim family were seriously injured after a violent mob stormed their residence on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. The victims include Ahmed Ullah Khan, his wife Rizwana Begum, and their sons Mohammed Khan and Aman Khan. According to reports, around 60–70 individuals, allegedly armed with sharp weapons, attacked the family when the two sons—who had been living in Kamareddy after being ostracized—returned to their ancestral home to celebrate the festival.

The brothers, previously arrested in a case they claim was fabricated, had been barred from staying in the village after a resolution passed by the local Village Development Committee (VDC). MBT party spokesperson Amjedullah Khan alleged that this resolution fueled the hostility, culminating in the brutal attack. He also condemned the inaction of local law enforcement, stating, “Law and order in the state have completely collapsed. The police are mere mute spectators when minorities are attacked.” The victims were rushed to the Government Hospital in Nizamabad for treatment.

Calls for justice have intensified as political leaders and activists demand immediate arrests and legal action against those involved in the mob assault. The police have so far not issued an official statement. Meanwhile, the incident has raised serious questions about community safety, minority rights, and the breakdown of law enforcement mechanisms in rural Telangana. Rights groups have also expressed concern about the rising trend of extrajudicial community resolutions targeting individuals, urging authorities to intervene and restore constitutional order.
