Midnight Chaos in Hyderabad’s Shahalibanda as Private Bus Crashes Into Power Pole, Wrecks Multiple Vehicles

A late-night accident triggered panic in Hyderabad when a private bus rammed into an electric pole in the congested lanes of Shahalibanda’s Kummawadi locality, leaving several vehicles badly damaged and the entire area without power. The incident occurred around midnight as the large bus attempted to navigate through the narrow residential road — a stretch clearly unsuited for heavy vehicles — before losing control and smashing directly into the pole, which collapsed instantly under the impact.

The crash caused a chain reaction of destruction, as the bus’s luggage carrier reportedly broke off and crashed down onto parked vehicles below. At least three cars and multiple two-wheelers were damaged, with twisted metal, shattered lights, and debris scattered across the street. Residents rushed out of their homes after hearing the loud crash, only to find fallen electrical infrastructure blocking the road and sparking fears of electrocution. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though the property damage was significant.

Officials from the electricity department and local police arrived at the scene to secure the area and begin restoration work, but power supply remained disrupted as repairs were still underway. Locals expressed anger over heavy vehicles entering cramped residential lanes late at night, calling it reckless and avoidable. The incident has once again highlighted poor traffic regulation in old city localities, where a single mistake by oversized vehicles can turn quiet streets into disaster zones within seconds.
