Midnight Assault in Shastripuram Leaves AIMIM Workers Injured, Police Launch Investigation

A violent late-night attack in Hyderabad has left three local workers of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen injured in the Shastripuram area, triggering tension in the locality. The incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday when Mohd Khadeer, Mohd Khaleel, and Mohd Altaf were standing near a residence in Shastripuram. According to initial reports, a group of five to six men suddenly approached them and began punching them repeatedly, causing serious facial injuries, particularly to Khadeer, who was bleeding heavily.

All three victims were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment, while local police from the Mailardevpally station reached the scene and began inquiries. Investigators suspect the attackers were under the influence of ganja and may have targeted the AIMIM workers due to a personal grudge or local rivalry. A formal case has been registered, and efforts are underway to identify and track down those involved in the assault through witness statements and nearby surveillance footage.

Tensions escalated further after the attack when local residents reportedly caught hold of some individuals believed to be linked to the violence and assaulted them in retaliation. During the chaos, at least three motorcycles were damaged, adding to the unrest in the area. Police have since increased patrolling to prevent further flare-ups, as the incident once again exposes how quickly minor disputes and substance abuse can spiral into street violence — leaving ordinary neighborhoods turning into flashpoints overnight.
