Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a disposable plates and glasses manufacturing unit in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, on Sunday night, causing significant property damage. The blaze erupted around 9:00 PM and lasted for 45 minutes before firefighters managed to bring it under control. Two fire engines were deployed to the scene to douse the flames, preventing further escalation. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
According to the Kukatpally police, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and an official complaint is yet to be filed regarding the incident. The estimated property loss is believed to be between Rs 5-10 lakh. Nearby businesses and residents witnessed the intense flames, raising concerns about safety measures in industrial units operating in the area. Officials have urged factory owners to follow fire safety regulations strictly to prevent such mishaps in the future.
This fire incident follows a similar one that occurred on February 21 at a timber depot in Karmanghat, Hyderabad.
