Man Crushed in Convoy of Ex-CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in Guntur: Shocking Video Surfaces

A heart-wrenching incident occurred on June 18 in Etukuru village, Guntur district, when a man named Cheeli Singaiah, 65, was tragically run over by a vehicle in the convoy of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The incident happened during Jagan’s rally from Tadepalli to Sattenapalli. Although the incident took place days ago, a disturbing video of the tragedy went viral on social media on June 22, raising serious questions about convoy safety and response measures. In the video, Jagan is seen waving to supporters, unaware of the fatal accident taking place near his vehicle.

Despite the video causing a social media uproar, the police had not responded publicly until the video gained traction. The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) quickly defended its leader, calling it a politically motivated attempt to damage Jagan’s image. Former Minister Ambati Rambabu stated that it was not Jagan’s vehicle that caused the fatality but another car in the convoy. He further alleged that pro-TDP media was distorting facts and running a smear campaign against Jagan Mohan Reddy to undermine his ongoing outreach tour in Palnadu.

Guntur SP S. Satish Kumar confirmed that the convoy did not stop after the incident, and that the police rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The rally was being held to console the family of YSRCP worker Korlakunta Nagamalleswara Rao, who had died by suicide following alleged harassment. The police have now registered a case and initiated an investigation. Meanwhile, political blame games have intensified, with the incident becoming a flashpoint between YSRCP and the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
