A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area on Sunday when a 30-year-old man allegedly ended his life by jumping from a residential high-rise, police said. The deceased was identified as N Praveen, a resident of Attapur, who had reportedly been struggling with serious health problems for nearly three years. According to preliminary information, the prolonged medical issues had taken a heavy emotional toll on him, pushing him into distress in the months leading up to the incident.
Investigators stated that Praveen went to Aditya Empress Towers, located near Shaikpet Nala, and jumped from the 16th floor of the building, dying on the spot. The sudden nature of the incident caused panic among residents, who alerted the police immediately. Officers from the Tolichowki police station rushed to the scene, secured the area, and shifted the body for post-mortem examination as part of standard procedure.
During the initial probe, police revealed that Praveen had previously worked at the Passport Office about two years ago, which is situated close to the residential complex. Authorities believe he may have chosen the location due to his familiarity with the area. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to understand the exact circumstances and mental state that led to the extreme step, while officials also plan to speak with family members to piece together a clearer timeline of events.
