Late-Night Fire in Hyderabad’s Rajendranagar Destroys Three Shops, No Casualties

A major fire accident broke out late on Saturday night, August 17, in the Rajendranagar area of Hyderabad, leaving three shops completely gutted. The incident, which occurred around 11 PM near the S A R Garden function hall, caused widespread panic among locals. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the fire inflicted heavy damage to property, raising concerns over fire safety standards in the city’s commercial hubs.

According to initial reports, the fire originated at an air conditioner repair workshop before spreading rapidly to an adjoining chicken shop and an onion godown. Within minutes, flames engulfed all three establishments, creating a massive blaze that required immediate intervention. Three fire tenders from different stations were rushed to the spot, and after an intense two-hour battle, firefighters managed to bring the flames under control, preventing the fire from spreading further into the crowded neighborhood.

Preliminary investigations point to a short circuit in the AC repair shop as the likely cause of the blaze, though officials are conducting further checks to confirm the source. Authorities have emphasized the urgent need for shop owners and business establishments to adopt stronger precautionary measures, given the frequency of fire accidents reported in Hyderabad in recent months. This latest incident highlights the growing risks posed by electrical negligence and the importance of proactive fire safety planning in densely populated urban areas.
