Key Terror Leaders Killed in Indian Precision Strikes Identified: Sources

In a major development following Operation Sindoor, sources have confirmed the identities of five senior terrorists killed during the Indian armed forces’ precision strikes on May 7 in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These militants were affiliated with proscribed terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Among the deceased was Mudassar Khadian Khas, also known as Abu Jundal, a high-ranking LeT commander who headed the Markaz Taiba in Muridke. His funeral, attended by senior Pakistani military and political leaders including Army Chief Asim Munir and Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz, was led by global terrorist Hafiz Abdul Rauf, underscoring the deep-rooted ties between extremist networks and state officials.

Another significant casualty was Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, elder brother of JeM founder Maulana Masood Azhar and head of Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. Sources indicate his central role in youth indoctrination and JeM’s funding network. Also eliminated was Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, also known as Ustad Ji, a key JeM figure linked to the IC-814 hijacking and several attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. His death deals a blow to JeM’s operational leadership. These high-profile eliminations were part of targeted strikes that hit nine identified terrorist hubs, carefully avoiding civilian zones, officials clarified.

Two additional terrorists, Khalid alias Abu Akasha of LeT and Mohammad Hassan Khan of JeM, were among those neutralized. Khalid, a known operative in weapon smuggling from Afghanistan and terror activities in J&K, was given a state-level funeral in Faisalabad, attended by senior army officers and government officials. Meanwhile, Khan, the son of JeM’s operational commander in PoK, was instrumental in coordinating cross-border terror strikes. Intelligence sources claim these eliminations severely impact the command chain and logistic operations of LeT and JeM, marking a significant success for Indian counter-terror efforts amid rising Indo-Pak tensions.
