Despite soaring temperatures across Telangana, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecasted thunderstorms with gusty winds for the next five days. While parts of the state continue to face intense heat, with Adilabad recording 45.2°C and several districts like Jagtial, Nizamabad, Nirmal, and Karimnagar exceeding 44°C, IMD has issued an orange heatwave alert for 17 districts. The capital city, Hyderabad, witnessed temperatures between 41°C and 41.9°C during this period.
The IMD has advised caution as the dual weather warning persists, with thunderstorms expected in districts such as Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Hyderabad, among others. The relief from thunderstorms and windy conditions may bring temporary respite, especially to districts like Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri.
However, extreme heatwave-like conditions are expected to continue in parts of Telangana including Kamareddy, Medak, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, and Suryapet. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor exposure during peak hours, and follow safety guidelines issued by the authorities. The IMD will continue to monitor the developments and issue updates accordingly.
