In a disturbing incident reported from Ramakrishna Nagar in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, the body of a 45-year-old woman identified as Shailaja was kept inside her apartment for four days without funeral rites being performed. The incident took place at Sri Sai Bharadwaj Apartments. According to initial information, she reportedly passed away due to illness on February 13, but her body remained inside the flat until authorities intervened.

Residents of the apartment complex grew suspicious after a foul smell began spreading through the building. Concerned neighbors alerted the police, prompting Kukatpally officers to reach the location on February 16. Upon arrival, police shifted the body from the flat and initiated standard legal and procedural formalities.

Authorities have now launched a formal probe to determine why there was a delay in conducting the last rites. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the death as well as the reasons behind keeping the body inside the residence for several days.
