Hyderabad Muslims Condemn Pahalgam Terror Attack with Black Armband Protest

In a powerful show of solidarity and condemnation, Muslims in Hyderabad protested the recent terror attack in Pahalgam by wearing black armbands and offering special prayers at Mecca Masjid. The protest was organized in response to a call given by AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Hundreds gathered at the historic mosque, where the collective sentiment was one of mourning and patriotic resolve. After the prayers, participants held a short rally, raising slogans such as “Hindustan Zindabad” and voicing strong opposition to cross-border terrorism.

Asaduddin Owaisi personally led the symbolic protest by distributing black ribbons before Friday namaz at a mosque in Shastri Puram. He also wore a black ribbon himself and participated in the prayers, emphasizing the community’s united stance against terrorism. Owaisi’s call to action drew a significant response from local residents and religious leaders, who joined in expressing their grief and outrage over the incident in Jammu and Kashmir.

In anticipation of the large turnout, police authorities ensured heightened security around Charminar and Mecca Masjid to maintain peace and public order. The peaceful nature of the protest reflected the community’s resolve to respond with unity and dignity, rather than fear or division. The event marks one of the city’s largest coordinated responses to a national tragedy in recent months, drawing attention to the emotional impact of terrorism far beyond the immediate sites of violence.
