A shocking incident has unfolded in Hyderabad, where an 86-year-old industrialist, V C Janardhan Rao, was stabbed to death by his own grandson, K Kirti Teja, over a property dispute. The accused, who is around 28 years old, attacked his grandfather with a knife, resulting in multiple stab wounds and immediate death.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the night of February 6, when Teja and his mother visited Rao’s house in Somajiguda. An argument broke out between Teja and Rao over the distribution of his property, leading to the fatal attack. Teja also stabbed his mother when she tried to intervene, and she was admitted to a hospital with injuries.
The accused, who had recently returned to Hyderabad from the US after completing his master’s degree, was arrested on Saturday, and a case of murder was registered against him. Further investigation is ongoing. The victim, V C Janardhan Rao, was the chairman and managing director of the city-based Veljan Group, which has expertise in providing complete solutions for various applications, including shipbuilding, energy, and industrial segments.
