Hyderabad BBA Student Booked for Anti-India Social Media Posts Amid Operation Sindoor

A second-year BBA student from a private college in Champapet, Hyderabad, has been booked by the IS Sadan police after allegedly posting content on Instagram and WhatsApp that praised Pakistan and insulted India amid the ongoing Operation Sindoor. The young woman reportedly posted “Pakistan Zindabad” on her Instagram story, which quickly drew backlash for being insensitive during a time of heightened national security and military operations. The posts also reportedly included derogatory remarks aimed at the Indian flag and the country’s armed response to recent cross-border tensions.

The issue was first brought to light by the college authorities, who acted swiftly after being alerted to the student’s social media activity. In a formal complaint lodged with the local police, the management emphasized that such views did not align with the institution’s values and expressed concern over the divisive and inflammatory nature of the posts. Following this, the college suspended the student and launched an internal inquiry, distancing itself from the incident while promising full cooperation with law enforcement.

Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered under sections 196 and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is currently underway. Authorities are examining the posts and assessing whether additional sections may apply depending on the outcome of the probe. The incident comes at a time of national sensitivity, and police have urged the public to refrain from sharing or endorsing such content online, reiterating that any actions that could hurt national sentiment will be dealt with firmly under the law.
