Ganesh Visarjan in Hyderabad: No Idol Immersion at Tank Bund, Announces Police

In a significant move, Hyderabad police have announced that no Ganesh idols will be allowed for immersion at Tank Bund this year during the Ganesh Visarjan. The decision has been made to manage crowd control and ensure public safety during the festivities. Instead, designated areas around the city have been identified for the idol immersion process.

Authorities have urged devotees to cooperate and follow the new guidelines, emphasizing that the restrictions are in place to prevent overcrowding and ensure a smoother procession. The Tank Bund area, which has historically been a popular site for Ganesh Visarjan, will be closely monitored by the police, and alternative arrangements have been made to accommodate the large number of devotees participating in the event.

The police have also requested the public to use eco-friendly idols to minimize environmental impact, as well as to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols during the celebrations.
