Fire Breaks Out at Maha Kumbh Mela Camp, No Casualties Reported

A massive fire erupted at a camp in Mahakumbh Nagar near Tulsi Chauraha on Old GT Road on Friday, creating panic among the devotees and camp residents. The fire, which broke out in the morning, quickly spread due to the temporary structures made of cloth and bamboo. However, firefighters arrived promptly at the scene and managed to control the blaze before it could cause extensive damage. Inspector Yogesh Chaturvedi of Khak Chowk police station confirmed that no casualties had been reported and that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Eyewitnesses described the chaotic moments when the flames began spreading, with people rushing to safety while authorities attempted to douse the fire. Many makeshift tents and religious materials inside the camp were damaged, though officials stated that there was no immediate threat to the larger Maha Kumbh Mela gatherings. Firefighters worked for hours to ensure that the fire did not reignite, and additional safety measures are now being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Authorities have urged the devotees and organizers to remain vigilant and follow fire safety protocols, especially given the high number of attendees at the ongoing event. The Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, sees millions of visitors, making fire safety a critical concern. Officials reassured the public that emergency services are on high alert and prepared to respond to any further incidents.
