India has officially announced that Eid Al-Fitr 2025 will be observed on Monday, March 31, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan. The confirmation comes after the International Astronomy Centre stated that the crescent moon for Shawwal would be visible to the naked eye on Sunday, March 30. With this announcement, India joins several other countries, including Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Brunei, Pakistan, and Australia, in celebrating Eid on the same day. The festival, which signifies the conclusion of a month of fasting, devotion, and prayer, is eagerly awaited by millions of Muslims across the country.

Eid Al-Fitr is one of the most significant Islamic celebrations, observed on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, Ramzan began on March 2, and with the sighting of the new moon, the fasting month will conclude, giving way to festivities filled with prayers, charity, and communal gatherings. Families come together for grand feasts, exchange gifts, and seek blessings from elders, while mosques and Eidgahs witness large congregations for the special Eid prayer. Markets and shopping centers across India have been bustling with activity as people prepare for the joyous occasion.

Apart from India, many countries have also declared March 31 as the date for Eid Al-Fitr, ensuring a synchronized celebration across multiple regions. Authorities have advised people to plan their travels and prayers accordingly while also staying cautious due to the ongoing summer heat. With the festival bringing joy and unity, Muslims across the world are preparing to embrace the spirit of Eid with gratitude and happiness.
