Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi has initiated a crowdfunding campaign to gather ₹40 lakh for her upcoming Delhi Assembly election bid. Addressing the media in Delhi, she urged citizens to contribute through an online donation platform, emphasizing that AAP’s strength lies in the support of the common man. Highlighting the party’s commitment to honesty and public service, Atishi stated that small contributions have been instrumental in sustaining AAP’s election efforts.
Sharing her journey on platform X, Atishi said, “As a young, educated woman, your faith and donations have allowed me to pursue a career in politics, something I could not have achieved alone. I now seek your support once more as we prepare for another election.” The AAP has consistently relied on grassroots-level funding, a strategy reaffirmed by leaders like Atishi and Manish Sisodia, who also launched similar campaigns in recent months.
Delhi heads to polls on February 5, with results set to be announced on February 8. AAP, which won 62 seats in 2020, is eyeing a third consecutive term. In contrast, BJP and Congress have struggled to make a significant impact in the capital. Criticizing BJP for not announcing a CM candidate, Atishi alleged that BJP plans to field Ramesh Bidhuri, claiming his abusive remarks make him “an ideal fit” for their campaign, drawing sharp reactions from political circles.
