Deadly Jeep Crash in Nagarkurnool Leaves Three Dead, Several Injured While Traveling to Srisailam

A tragic road accident in Nagarkurnool district claimed the lives of three people, including two women, after a jeep rammed into a culvert in Thimmanapally under Oorkonda mandal on Saturday. The vehicle, carrying around ten passengers, was en route to the famous hill shrine of Srisailam when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the jeep to crash violently into the concrete structure along the roadside. The impact was so severe that multiple passengers were thrown around inside the vehicle, resulting in instant fatalities.

According to preliminary information, all the deceased and injured were residents of Karnataka, who had undertaken the journey for religious purposes. Locals rushed to the scene after hearing the crash and helped pull the injured from the wreckage before emergency services arrived. Several victims sustained serious injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the mangled jeep lying near the culvert and people crying for help, highlighting once again how dangerous rural roads can become when speed and poor visibility combine.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine whether overspeeding, driver fatigue, or road conditions caused the accident. Officials are also examining the condition of the vehicle and whether safety norms were ignored by overcrowding the jeep. The incident adds to the growing list of fatal road accidents across Telangana, raising serious concerns about road safety enforcement, especially on long inter-state religious trips where vehicles are often overloaded and driven continuously without proper rest.
