Deadliest Strikes in Months: Israel Kills Over 400 in Gaza, Netanyahu Warns of More Attacks

Israel has launched its most intense airstrikes on Gaza since the ceasefire began in January, killing over 400 people, according to the Gaza health ministry. Hospitals are overwhelmed with casualties, and many bodies remain trapped under the rubble. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the attacks are only the beginning, stating that Israel will continue striking Hamas with increasing force. The Israeli military claims the strikes were a response to Hamas’s refusal to release hostages and that future negotiations will only happen under fire.

Hamas leaders have accused Israel of jeopardizing the ongoing ceasefire negotiations mediated by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt. The group still holds 59 hostages from its October 2023 attack on Israel, and officials claim that Israeli strikes are endangering potential diplomatic solutions. Hamas has urged allied nations to pressure the U.S. to intervene and stop Israel’s attacks. Meanwhile, Israel insists that a transition to further ceasefire phases must include the complete disarmament of Gaza and the removal of Hamas, a condition Hamas strongly rejects.

The White House confirmed that Israel had consulted President Trump’s administration before launching the latest strikes, with U.S. officials holding Hamas responsible for the renewed conflict. As diplomatic efforts stall, the situation in Gaza remains dire, with continued airstrikes, mounting casualties, and increasing humanitarian concerns. Netanyahu’s government remains firm on its military response, signaling further escalation in the ongoing conflict.
