Car Plunges Into Stream in Jangaon While Following Google Maps; Five Injured

In a shocking incident early Saturday morning, five youths from Nagpur sustained injuries after their car fell into a stream near Vadlakonda crossroads in Telangana’s Jangaon district. The group was reportedly using Google Maps to navigate towards Tirupati when their vehicle unknowingly took a dangerous turn onto an under-construction bridge over the Ganugupahad stream. Without any warning signage or barricades to caution drivers, the car plunged straight into the water, resulting in chaos and injuries to all occupants.

Upon receiving the alert, local police immediately rushed to the scene and shifted the injured youths to the Jangaon Area Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the injuries were reported to be minor. According to police sources, the spot where the accident occurred is notorious for similar incidents. Despite multiple accidents in the past, the bridge on the Jangaon–Husnabad road remains incomplete and poorly marked, posing serious risks to commuters—especially those unfamiliar with the area.

Locals expressed anger and concern over the ongoing negligence. They claimed that although soil was recently filled near the bridge to prevent accidents, no permanent safety measures like barriers, lights, or alert signs were installed. The mishap has reignited debates about over-reliance on GPS navigation and the government’s failure to ensure proper infrastructure maintenance. Authorities have promised to re-evaluate safety conditions at the site, but residents say repeated warnings have gone unheard for years.
