In a major political escalation, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders have filed a formal complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), accusing Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy of orchestrating a ₹423 crore paddy procurement scam. The complaint alleges large-scale irregularities in tenders for procuring 35 lakh tonnes of paddy, claiming funds were illegally collected over and above bid amounts and laundered into private accounts. According to BRS, this massive scam was executed with the involvement of top officials in the Civil Supplies Department. The party has demanded a thorough investigation by central agencies, including the CBI and the Directorate of Intelligence.

Speaking to reporters, former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy revealed that over 700 pages of evidence have been submitted to the ED, including documents detailing illegal payments of ₹2,230 per tonne allegedly collected from rice millers. These funds were reportedly funneled into undisclosed bank accounts, raising serious concerns about systemic corruption. Former Minister Gangula Kamalakar criticized the government’s inaction, stating that their complaints at the Panjagutta police station were ignored, while BRS activists face FIRs for minor social media remarks. He questioned the BJP’s silence on the issue, suggesting a possible tacit understanding between the Congress and BJP at the state level.

The BRS has claimed that despite repeatedly raising the issue in both the Legislative Assembly and public forums, the Congress-led government has failed to respond or file a counter affidavit in the High Court. The party insists that the scam has caused significant losses to the state exchequer, and alleges that Congress is using its influence to suppress investigations. BRS leaders are now calling on central enforcement agencies to take swift and impartial action, warning that the party will intensify its protests and legal battle if accountability is not ensured.
