Blast at Beed Mosque Ahead of Eid: Two Arrested, Investigation Underway

A low-intensity explosion rocked a mosque in Beed district, Maharashtra, in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred in Ardhamsla village ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, triggering panic in the area. The explosion, caused by a gelatin stick, resulted in structural cracks in the mosque but did not cause any casualties. Beed police swiftly arrested two individuals in connection with the blast and launched a thorough investigation to determine the motive and source of the explosives. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm as forensic experts examine the site.

Following the blast, members of the Muslim community gathered outside the local police station, demanding an immediate and transparent probe. The incident comes just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Maharashtra, where he is scheduled to visit Smruti Mandir in Nagpur and lay the foundation stone for an eye institute. The Beed police, bomb detection squads, and senior officials, including Special Inspector General Virendra Mishra and Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat, are closely monitoring the situation. Security has been tightened in the area to prevent any unrest.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint received from local authorities.
