Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning following a high-profile diplomatic mission to four key nations—Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain. This outreach, known as Operation Sindoor, was led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda and included a cross-party delegation aimed at strengthening global cooperation against terrorism. The visit was part of India’s assertive response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack and showcased the country’s “zero tolerance” policy on terrorism. Other delegates included BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, and former diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
Throughout the diplomatic tour, Asaduddin Owaisi made headlines with his bold criticism of Pakistan’s leadership. In one of the delegation meetings, he referred to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir as “stupid jokers,” accusing them of misleading their citizens with a doctored Chinese army photo from 2019, falsely claimed as a Pakistani victory over India. He emphasized that Pakistan’s top brass was using a fake memento, presented at an official event attended by President Asif Ali Zardari and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, to distract from their own internal failures and avoid facing India’s strategic advancements.
Owaisi’s participation in the mission underscores a rare moment of bipartisan unity in Indian foreign affairs, especially on matters of national security. His remarks during the visit highlighted India’s firm and unapologetic stance against nations that support or shelter terrorism. As the Operation Sindoor delegation wrapped up its tour on Monday, the return of the members, particularly Owaisi’s sharp political commentary, has reignited discussions on India’s evolving foreign policy tactics and the role of opposition leaders in shaping the global narrative against terror.
