AIMIM vs Congress Clash in Nampally Over Illegal Building Dispute

The political battleground in Hyderabad’s Nampally constituency is heating up, with a fierce showdown unfolding between AIMIM MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain and Congress leader Feroz Khan. The conflict began when Majid Hussain visited Vijaynagar Colony to intervene in a GHMC demolition drive targeting alleged illegal construction. He accused local Congress-affiliated individuals of harassing residents and extorting money through false complaints to municipal authorities. The AIMIM legislator named specific Congress members, claiming they misused government machinery to threaten homeowners and manipulate development-related permissions. His visit temporarily halted GHMC’s demolition activity, escalating tensions between the two parties.

The situation spiraled further when Congress held a press conference blaming Majid Hussain for promoting corruption and hindering legal development work. Feroz Khan, the Congress candidate for Nampally, defended his team’s vigilance over illegal encroachments and denied any wrongdoing. The controversy deepened when Gopal Raj, a local division president and Vijaynagar resident, released a video alleging that Congress members demanded ₹20 lakh from him and a relative to suppress GHMC action and permit their construction project. These bribery claims intensified the rivalry and prompted public outrage, drawing both legal and political ramifications into the spotlight.

In a retaliatory move, Congress leaders lodged a complaint at Mehdipatnam police station accusing Majid Hussain of making anti-Hindu remarks during his colony visit. They demanded that AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi suspend the MLA and issue a public apology. With allegations ranging from corruption to communal provocation, the AIMIM-Congress clash in Nampally reflects the broader polarization ahead of the upcoming elections. As political rhetoric intensifies, calls for accountability and transparent governance grow louder in one of Hyderabad’s most contested constituencies.
