A tragic road accident in Mahabubnagar’s Jadcherla mandal claimed the lives of three people, including the bus driver and two women passengers from Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The incident took place early Friday morning when a private bus travelling from Kadapa to Hyderabad rammed into the rear of a lorry on a bridge near Macharam. The impact was so severe that the driver and the two women—identified as Lakshmi Devi and Radhika—died instantly at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred around 6 a.m. under low visibility conditions. Authorities suspect that either overspeeding or driver fatigue may have contributed to the crash. Several other passengers onboard sustained injuries of varying degrees and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency responders, including local police and medical teams, reached the site within minutes to carry out rescue operations and clear the traffic bottleneck caused by the collision.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal crash. Efforts are underway to speak with survivors to gather more details about the sequence of events. The incident has once again raised concerns over road safety on highways, particularly regarding long-distance buses operating during night and early morning hours. Officials have urged bus operators to strictly adhere to speed limits and ensure adequate rest for drivers to prevent such tragedies in the future.
