Massive Fire in Moghalpura: Ten Rescued from Multi-Storey Building Blaze

A major fire incident occurred late Wednesday night at a G+3 building in Moghalpura, Hyderabad, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The fire reportedly originated from the ground floor of the structure, where a shop stocked with cardboard and paper materials ignited, releasing heavy smoke that quickly spread throughout the building. Occupants living on the upper floors found themselves trapped and unable to escape via the staircase due to the thick smoke.

Upon receiving the distress call, fire tenders from both Moghalpura and Gowliguda stations rushed to the scene. Firefighters assessed the situation and began rescue operations by relocating trapped residents to the terrace of a neighboring building for safety. Assistant District Fire Officer A. Balaraju confirmed that at least ten people were safely evacuated during the tense operation. He also emphasized that the accumulation of highly flammable materials in the shop intensified the fire and led to the rapid spread of smoke.

Although the exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation, preliminary findings point towards a possible short circuit as the trigger. The timely intervention by fire personnel helped prevent casualties, but the incident has once again raised concerns about fire safety and storage practices in mixed-use residential-commercial buildings. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed safety inspection of the property, and the local police have urged other establishments in the area to reassess their fire safety protocols.
