BRS working president and former Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) inaugurated the state-of-the-art Knowledge Centre of Pragmatic Design Solutions Limited (PDSL) in Warwick, United Kingdom, on May 30. PDSL is a pioneering firm offering research and development services to elite automotive manufacturers including McLaren, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover. At the inauguration, KTR reiterated his commitment to Telangana’s progress despite being in the opposition. He said, “Even though I am not in power currently, I am here seeking your investments because it’s always Telangana first, India first.” He called this more than a slogan — a guiding policy direction for the state’s future.
KTR went on to highlight the remarkable growth in Telangana’s tech and industrial sectors over the past decade. “In 2014, when the state was formed, around 3.23 lakh people were employed in the tech sector. By 2023, that number soared to nearly a million,” he noted. He also pointed out that technology exports had surged from ₹57,000 crore to ₹2,41,000 crore in the same period. KTR emphasized Hyderabad’s rising prominence in the automotive sector, which traditionally had its hubs in Pune and Chennai. “Now, we’ve attracted major players like Stellantis, ZF, Hyundai, Mobis, Bosch, Tata, and Mahindra. Hyderabad is now a serious contender in the automotive industry,” he said, encouraging PDSL and its partners to explore expansion opportunities in the state.
KTR also underlined Telangana’s early success in global events like hosting India’s first-ever Formula-E racing championship in Hyderabad. Stressing his long-term vision, he said, “We’re not only leading in IT and life sciences but also becoming a key player in global manufacturing and innovation.” He concluded with confidence about his party’s political future, asserting, “We fully intend to return to power within the next three years.” Kranti Puppala, Director of PDSL, praised KTR’s leadership and global outlook, calling it an honour to have their Knowledge Centre inaugurated by a “true global leader” who has helped position Telangana as a national and international frontrunner across sectors.
