BRS Leaders File Police Complaint Against Bandi Sanjay Over Fake Currency Allegations

Hyderabad has witnessed yet another political clash as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders formally lodged a police complaint against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay over his allegations that former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was involved in printing and distributing fake currency during elections. The complaint, filed at the Banjara Hills police station by BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Shravan along with party leaders Gellu Srinivas Yadav, Kishore Goud, and Manne Govardhan Reddy, called for immediate legal action against the BJP leader. Dr. Shravan strongly condemned Bandi Sanjay’s claims, branding them as baseless and designed to create political unrest. He asserted that a Union Minister making such serious accusations without any substantial proof was an irresponsible act that misled the public and tarnished the state’s image.

The controversy stems from a press conference held at the BJP office on Sunday, where Bandi Sanjay accused KCR of overseeing a fake currency printing operation in Bidar. In response, BRS leaders have not only dismissed these allegations but have also urged authorities to take strict action to prevent misinformation from influencing the political landscape. According to Dr. Shravan, such statements from a prominent leader could incite public tension and needed to be handled with urgency. Other BRS figures, including Dr. Kurva Vijay Kumar and Ashwin Rao, echoed similar concerns, emphasizing that defamatory remarks should not go unchecked, especially when they have the potential to damage public trust in democratic institutions.

This political spat has further intensified the already heated rivalry between the BRS and BJP in Telangana. While BRS leaders continue to press for a criminal case against Bandi Sanjay, the BJP has yet to officially respond to the police complaint. However, this incident highlights the growing use of sharp rhetoric and legal battles as tools in political confrontations. With elections on the horizon, such accusations and counter-accusations are likely to play a significant role in shaping public perception. Whether the police act on the complaint or the issue fizzles out as another war of words remains to be seen, but for now, the political temperature in Telangana has certainly risen.
