Exit Polls Predict BJP’s Resurgence in Delhi, AAP Faces Uncertain Future

With the results of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections set to be announced on Saturday, exit polls indicate a strong possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returning to power after 27 years. Multiple surveys project a significant lead for BJP, with seat predictions ranging from 21 to as high as 61, depending on the pollster. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has governed Delhi for a decade, faces a broad range of projections, with some polls suggesting it could secure between 10 to 44 seats. If these predictions hold, it would mark a major shift in Delhi’s political landscape, pushing AAP to the opposition after three consecutive terms in power. The Congress party, once dominant in Delhi, is expected to remain a non-factor, with most exit polls predicting a complete wipeout for the third consecutive election.

Among the exit polls, Axis My India forecasts BJP winning 45-55 seats while predicting 15-25 for AAP. CNX is even more bullish on BJP, placing its tally between 49-61 seats, and limiting AAP to just 10-19. Today’s Chanakya also shows a significant edge for BJP with 51 seats, leaving AAP with 19. In contrast, the Matrize survey suggests a closer contest, estimating BJP to win between 35-40 seats while giving AAP 32-37. P-Marq provides AAP with its most optimistic outlook, projecting it could secure 39-44 seats, while BJP could end up with 21-31. Meanwhile, People’s Pulse predicts a near landslide for BJP, estimating 51-60 seats, with AAP trailing at 10-18. Across all surveys, one consensus is clear—Congress remains irrelevant, with no seat gains anticipated.

As Delhi awaits the final results, political analysts suggest that BJP’s surge in the polls may be attributed to factors such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong influence, campaign strategies, and voter sentiment on governance issues. For AAP, the mixed projections signal uncertainty, and whether it retains a significant presence in the assembly remains to be seen. The actual results on Saturday will determine whether BJP indeed stages a historic comeback or if AAP manages to defy expectations.
