AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has made a stunning claim that Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai residence, Antilia, valued at Rs 15,000 crore, is built on land belonging to the Waqf Board. Owaisi made this statement during an interview with TV9, while discussing the Waqf Amendment Act, 2024. He criticized the PM Modi-led Centre, stating that the reforms aim to finish off Waqf boards.
Owaisi dismissed allegations of illegal occupation of land by the Muslim community in the name of Waqf properties, calling it BJP and RSS propaganda. He emphasized that Waqf land can only be donated by its rightful owner. Owaisi’s claims have sparked controversy, amidst the ongoing debate over the Waqf Act Amendment Bill.
[news_related_post]The bill aims to address challenges faced by State Waqf Boards, including registration, surveying, and unauthorized occupancy. However, opposition parties, including the INDIA party, have raised concerns about potential land seizure affecting Muslim communities. The ruling NDA party argues that the bill addresses long-standing requests from Muslim communities. The Joint Parliamentary Committee is currently scrutinizing the bill, with findings expected in December.
