Israel Bans UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ Entry After Iran Attack

Israel has banned United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres from entering the country due to the UN’s failure to condemn Iran’s recent missile attack. This decision, announced by Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz, comes after Iran launched 180 ballistic missiles at Israel in a joint effort with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and allied militant groups.

The attack was reportedly in response to Israel’s killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. Guterres condemned the latest attack in the Middle East without specifically naming Iran, prompting Israel to criticize his statement. Katz stated that anyone unable to unequivocally condemn Iran’s attack does not deserve to enter Israel.
