President Draupadi Murmu stated on Thursday that the upcoming Union Budget will serve as a significant document outlining the government’s long-term policies and future vision. Addressing Parliament, President Murmu remarked that the budget will not only encompass major economic and social decisions but also reflect numerous historic initiatives.

“The pace of reforms will be accelerated in line with the aspirations for rapid progress of the people,” said the President. She further emphasized, “It is the belief of my government that healthy competition among states should prevail to attract capital from across the world.”

President Murmu highlighted India’s economic growth, noting that in the past decade, India has become the world’s fifth-largest economy from the eleventh-largest. “From 2021 to 2024, India is progressing at an average annual rate of 8%, which is not achieved under ordinary circumstances,” she added.

“In recent years, we have witnessed the largest pandemic in 100 years. Despite ongoing global challenges and conflicts in various parts of the world, India has achieved this progress,” President Draupadi Murmu concluded.
