BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Friday accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of adopting double standards and targeting the BRS instead of confronting the BJP-led Central government. Speaking during a BRSV protest over the alleged assault on students in New Delhi, KTR questioned why the Congress appeared uncomfortable with the BRS raising its voice against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre. He also criticised the Youth Congress for allegedly obstructing his vehicle while he was on his way to express solidarity with the protesting students.

Referring to the ongoing protests in the national capital, KTR contrasted his party’s actions with those of the Telangana Chief Minister. He noted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had staged a protest near the Prime Minister’s residence over the issue, while Revanth Reddy remained in Kodangal instead of joining the agitation. KTR said he could not understand why the Chief Minister stayed away from Delhi despite the Congress making student protests a national issue.

Taking a swipe at Revanth Reddy, KTR remarked that the Chief Minister chose to remain in Kodangal while Rahul Gandhi led the protest in Delhi. He added that Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud had at least demonstrated outside Lok Bhavan, but alleged that the Chief Minister failed to participate in the protest against the Central government. KTR said the BRS would continue to support students and raise issues concerning their welfare while holding the Centre accountable.
