More than 38,600 people have been evacuated to safer locations as Gujarat continues to battle widespread flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) in Gandhinagar, authorities have shifted 38,653 residents from vulnerable areas since the onset of the monsoon. Rescue teams have also saved 5,547 people who were stranded in flood-hit regions, with emergency operations continuing in several of the state’s worst-affected districts.

The Gujarat government has launched a large-scale disaster response by deploying 49 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The relief efforts are being supported by the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force and the Indian Coast Guard, which are assisting in rescue missions, evacuations and the delivery of essential supplies to areas cut off by floodwaters. Authorities are maintaining round-the-clock monitoring of the situation as rainfall continues in several districts.

Officials have urged residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas to follow evacuation orders and cooperate with emergency personnel. Relief camps have been set up to provide shelter, food and medical assistance to displaced families, while state agencies continue to assess damage and restore normal services. The administration has assured that all available resources are being mobilised to protect lives and provide immediate assistance until weather conditions improve.
