Panic gripped parts of Telangana after large groups of monkeys ran wild in Valmidi village, creating chaos across residential streets and farmland alike. Videos circulating on social media showed monkeys perched on parked vehicles, jumping across rooftops, and aggressively attempting to enter homes in search of food. The sudden surge in monkey activity left families locking themselves indoors, especially fearing for children and elderly residents who appeared to be the primary targets of the animals.
According to villagers, the situation quickly turned dangerous as several people were reportedly injured while trying to scare the monkeys away. Locals claimed the animals were not just roaming casually but actively attacking in packs, snatching food, tearing household items, and damaging property. Beyond homes, nearby agricultural fields have also suffered heavy losses, with crops destroyed as the monkeys moved freely between residential areas and farmlands, threatening the livelihood of farmers who were already struggling with seasonal losses.
Residents said repeated complaints have been made to local panchayat authorities in Jangaon, but no concrete action has been taken so far, leaving the community frustrated and exposed to further risk. Villagers warned that if the monkey menace continues unchecked, it could lead to a serious accident or even fatalities. For now, fear dominates daily life in Valmidi, with people demanding immediate intervention before the situation spirals completely out of control.
